Innovation, Boldness, and a Global Case in Retail
Continuing its trajectory of constant innovation, Pernambucanas embraced RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology in 2019. To demonstrate its commitment to adopting this technology, which has become a fundamental strategy for growth, cost reduction, and operational efficiency, it assembled a super team of executives, including Bruno RSV Pizzoni, Guilherme Barbosa, José Carlos Cipriano, and Marcio Gomes, in addition to other highly skilled professionals recruited and trained internally.
ACURA Technologies Ltda. participated from the beginning by supplying portable RFID readers (SLEDs BTL-1000) for the pilot phase. And then, in the midst of the pandemic, we worked to automate the entire Araçariguama Distribution Center with RFID Tunnels (ACURA AT-1000) and Portals (equipped with Impinj R700 readers and ACURA Technologies Ltda. antennas), which have been operating at full capacity since 2021.
Now in 2025, Pernambucanas continues with full force in this commitment, expanding the scope of RFID adoption and reaping the rewards of its boldness and perseverance (the project advanced at the height of the pandemic!!!) and its great professionals, who, with the support of senior management and qualified providers, have become a global case study in RFID technology in the retail and supply chain sector!
