Tracking every stage of automobile production has become vital for any world-class automaker. With the vision and execution of "Smart Factories" within Industry 4.0, production processes are aligned with the principles of interoperability and modularity. For example, RFID tags, applied from the moment the monoblock is inserted into the line, accompany the vehicle throughout the assembly process, from the paint oven to final quality control. With the application of RFID technology and virtualization of interconnected data through sensors, it is possible to create simulation models, greatly increasing production flexibility and allowing the manufacture of various models and configurations on the same production line. The auto parts industry has also used RFID extensively, applying Industry 4.0 concepts, for example in the identification of components in headlight lines, air conditioning systems, engines, etc.
